Yuri Budkin, Deputy General Director of "STANDARTINFORM", took part in a webinar on "Welding materials and equipment market: current state, problems and solutions" on July 15, 2020.
The discussion was held in the framework of the 20th International Exhibition of Welding Materials, Equipment and Technologies "Weldex-2020". It gathered Russian and foreign manufacturers of welding equipment, industrial robots, equipment for metal cutting, protective and hardening coatings, quality control of welded products, personal and collective protection means, tools and devices for edge treatment. Representatives of the automotive, aircraft, construction, military-industrial and railroad industries, energy, housing and public utilities also attended the webinar.
Yuri Budkin's speech was devoted to practice and prospects of the newest technologies of designing with 3D means in welding manufacture.
"Application of automated systems allows to improve production technologies and bring it to a completely new level both in terms of speed of task performance and quality of work. It is already difficult to imagine many key industries without companies actively using the robot solutions", - noted the speaker and focused on the experience of the pilot project implementation of the method of accelerated conformity assessment and product certification.
The method is based on virtual tests using validated digital models from composite materials. Application of this method reduces the number of field tests of the product by two to three times. The method is tested on shut-off valves made of composite materials used in removable tanks.
The project, described by Yuri Budkin, is applicable to the formation of new markets for welding products manufactured by advanced production technologies in welding and related processes.
