Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that on July 1, Rosstandart deployed and included its own node in the IPChain network.
This was the result of an agreement signed a year ago at the IPQuorum international strategic forum on intellectual property in Kaliningrad.
The blockchain network infrastructure is deployed in "STANDARTINFORM", which is the main aggregator of standards in digital form.
The Agency reports: "Development of standards becomes a serious investment direction of corporations, but their turnover and application often occurs with violation of the developer rights. The problem became especially acute during the transition to the digital form of standards which represent not just the document, but also a knowledge base, the data and typical elements for manufacture of the diversified products - from food products to building designs".
As a substantiation of the importance of creating one's own blockchain network for the protection of intellectual rights in the field of digital standardization, the head of Rosstandart, Alexey Abramov, is quoted as saying: "There is only one way to solve the problem of counterfeiting in the circulation of digital standards - by building a transparent procedure for their certification, so that the entire chain from the developers and distributors of standards to their end consumers - sub-licensees is transparent. We need a blockchain to get these licensing agreements with digital forms of standards to be fast".
