The main results of the 57th meeting of the EASC held on July 27, 2020 are the approval of the new Development Strategy of the Euro-Asian council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (EASC) of the CIS member states and changes to the updated 2020 Work Program on Interstate Standardization for 2019-2021. The event was held in the videoconference format.
The meeting was attended by members of the National Standardization, Metrology, Conformity Assessment and Accreditation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EASC Standards.
The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosstandart and Rosaccreditation took part in the meeting. The Rosstandart delegation was led by the head of the Federal Agency Alexey Abramov.
The main topic of discussion was the consideration and approval of the EASC Development Strategy for the period until 2030. The document reflects a common vision of the development of cooperation directions assigned to the EASC in accordance with the EASC Development Strategy for the period up to 2030, as well as the norms and rules of international organizations in the established areas of activity.
Amendment No. 1 to the Program on Interstate Standardization 2019-2021 updated for 2020 was adopted. Amendment included 167 documents on interstate standardization (development of new interstate standards, revision of existing ones and preparation of amendments to them), relating to most areas of economic interaction of the CIS member states: energy and electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and metallurgy, chemistry and petrochemistry, agro-industrial complex and light industry, healthcare, social sector and information technologies.
Also, 240 documents on interstate standardization were approved (30 documents were cancelled) and two tables of Standard Reference Data CIS developed in accordance with the program of work on development of certified data on physical constants and properties of substances and materials on specific topic areas for 2019-2021
The 8th competition for the CIS Prize 2021 for achievements in the field of product and service quality was announced.
By the unanimous decision of the EASC members, the powers of the Council Chairman - Arman Shakkaliev (Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan), and co-chairmen of the Council - Alexei Abramov (Head of Rosstandart) and Dilshod Sattarov (Director General of the agency "UzSTANDART") were extended.
The next meeting of the EASC will be held in October 2020 in Russia in case the epidemiological situation related to COVID-2019 improves in the CIS countries
