In early August, 85 national and interstate standards came into force. Among them - a series of documents on equipment and methods of lighting playgrounds, standards for rocket and space equipment and rescue equipment for crews of engineering structures.
GOST R 58862-2020 «Automobile road of general use. Maintenance. Periodicity for the fulfilment» Published for the first time. The document establishes the frequency of work to maintain the normative and technical condition of roads, as well as the organization and safety of road traffic. The frequency of such work is calculated on the basis of the duration of spring-summer-autumn and winter periods of the territorial zones of the Russian Federation in turn.
GOST R 58861-2020 «Automobile roads of general use. Overhaul and repair. Planning of overhaul periods». Published for the first time. The document specifies the time periods from the moment the road is put into exploitation to the first major reconstruction. For example, the reconstruction of steel bearing metal structures with orthotropic plate (consisting of intersecting longitudinal ribs and cross beams) should be carried out every 53 years, the drainage system of the bridge bed - every 20 years. The standard gives the frequency of restoration of protective pavement layers. It consists of the average annual daily traffic intensity in the busiest traffic lane, expressed in cars per day; road and climate zone and the material of the protective layer.
GOST R 58407.6-2020 «Automobile roads of general use. Binding petroleum bituminous materials. Sampling methods». Published for the first time. The standard specifies methods for selecting binding bituminous materials that are used in the construction and overhaul of highways. Bitumen can be sampled in both liquid and solid form. Its weight must not be less than 1.5 kg. If packagings are dry, sampling is also allowed in rainy weather. In solid form, a sample of bitumen must be taken from a depth of at least 50 millimeters from the outer layer. In liquid form, special sampling devices are used to take samples of bitumen from tanks and tank trucks.
GOST R 52853-2019 «Passenger vehicles. Wheel guards. Technical requirements» has replaced the 2009 standard of the same name. The standard applies to systems that protect as far as possible other road users from splashing water, dirt, ice, snow and rocks from under the wheels of cars. According to GOST, the rear part of the protection system shall not end above a horizontal plane 150 mm above the axle of rotation of the wheels.
