World Quality Day is celebrated on the second Thursday of November.
It was initiated by the European Organization for Quality (EOQ), a non-governmental organization founded in 1956 to effectively improve the quality management industry in Europe and to coordinate the work of national quality associations. The International Day was established with the support of the UN.
In 1996 the EOQ announced the European Quality Week, which falls on the second Thursday of November.
In 2020, World Quality Week falls on November 9-15 and is held under the motto: "Quality as Competitive Advantage in an Uncertain Environment".
In a world of growing consumer demands, competition, technological development, and digital technology, manufacturing and service companies are striving to be a reliable partner for consumers. Quality plays an important role in determining the value of goods, works and services to the consumer.
At the same time, the concept of quality is much broader than issues related to the direct production of products and services. It touches upon issues of ecology, safety, use of resource-saving technologies in production and many others. Quality takes on special importance in unstable times.
Quality management is inextricably linked to standardization. The establishment of clear rules and characteristics, enshrined in national, interstate and international standards, has a significant impact on achieving orderly production, circulation and competitiveness of products, works or services.
Traditionally, on World Quality Day and during the World Quality Week, business events are held to draw public attention to the problems of quality, products and services for sustainable development of society and the state.
Online forum "World Quality Day-2020", organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Roskachestvo, Rosstandart and Rosakreditatsiya will be held on November 12-13, 2020. The main theme of the forum is quality as a competitive advantage in an uncertain environment.
The second annual "Direct line" on motor fuel quality will be held on November 12, 2020. The project will be held in online format. Broadcast of the event will start at 12:00 on the official YouTube channel of Rosstandart and on the website avtoradio.ru/toplivo2020.
