"STANDARTINFORM" took part in the "World Quality Day" forum, which was held in online format on November 12-13, 2020.
The goal of the event is to highlight the importance of continuous quality improvement of products and services for sustainable development of society and the government.The World Quality Day forum has been traditionally celebrated worldwide for more than 20 years on the second Thursday of November.
Session "Standardization is the basis of product quality", was held on November 13. Elena A. Sarattseva, Deputy Head of Roskachestvo and moderator of the session, in her opening speech noted: "Standardization is an integral part of the quality infrastructure".
Alexander A. Barkov, First Deputy General Director of "STANDARTINFORM", in his report on "Standardization and Economics. The Role of Standards in achieving sustainable development goals" highlighted the importance of business adaptation to changing external conditions: these are new thoughts of the young generation related to the wide availability of information at different levels of reliability, and challenges of VUCA-world: volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
Alexander A. Barkov focused on 17 sustainable development goals developed under the auspices of the UN. And he noted that "the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and many foreign standardization organizations have adopted these goals as the basis of their strategies".
"The basic principles of standardization make it possible to find answers to the challenges of VUCA-world. Domestic standardization has a large baggage of knowledge and experience, on the basis of which it is currently being developed in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law "On Standardization in the Russian Federation". - said the speaker and added - "However, the five-year period since the beginning of the new round of development is not enough to finally find an answer to the requirements of the time. We are sure that new challenges require new tools. We are looking for solutions in digitalization and are developing state information standardization systems".
The First Deputy General Director spoke about the work to incorporate the Federal Information Fund of Standards into the new digital reality. He briefly described modern technologies: Blokchain, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things as possible guides to reliable information, noting the continuing role of standardization as a tool for achieving sustainable development goals.
"Economic development is closely connected with the development of standardization and the activity of the business community", - summarized A.A. Barkov. He appealed to the Russian business community to intensify work in national, interstate and international standardization, including the participation of Russian experts in the work of ISO and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
The section was attended by representatives of business, associations and unions of manufacturers and technical committees on standardization.
