The order and conditions of application of international, regional and interstate standards and codes of practice, as well as standards and codes for foreign countries were discussed by representatives of Russian testing laboratories in the online format.
Rosstandart organized the event under the chairmanship of the head of Rosstandart, Anton P. Shalaev, on January 25.
"STANDARTINFORM" was represented by Alexander N. Mikheev, Acting General Director, Alexander N. Barkov, First Deputy General Director and Konstantin V. Leonidov, Deputy General Director.
Julia S. Tufanova, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of "STANDARTINFORM", made a report.
"The possibility to apply international and foreign standards currently is available. There is a procedure that allows the direct application of international, regional and foreign standards in the Russian legal field. Any of the foreign standards can be registered in the Federal Information Fund of Standards, a number of necessary requirements and conditions must be met for that. However, once all the procedures are fulfilled, both the standard itself and, importantly, a duly certified translation of this standard will be available for laboratories' work", - reported Julia S. Tufanova.
The rapporteur spoke in detail about the procedure for standards registration in the Federal Information Fund of Standards. She reminded that when applying international, regional standards and regional sets of rules, as well as standards and sets of rules of foreign countries, it is necessary to take into account that such standards are protected by copyright.
