Experts from more than 40 regional standardization, metrology and certification centers of Rosstandart took part in an online meeting dedicated to the improvement of the National Certification System (NCS).
Anton P. Shalaev, Head of Rosstandart, opened the event and emphasized the importance of certification development for Rosstandart organizations. At the same time, he noted the importance of interaction between NCS and industry voluntary certification systems created by federal executive bodies or state corporations by concluding partnership agreements with possible further mutual recognition of certificates.
"Voluntary certification activities should be credible due to the fact that its results are confirmed by real tests in accredited laboratories. However, in addition to the image component, it is also necessary to ensure the economic efficiency for the organizations of the Rosstandart system", - said the head of the department.
In order to improve the efficiency of the National Certification System at the end of 2020, the functions of the system holder were transferred from Rosstandart to Standardinform. The institution has the status of the National Certification Institute. On its basis it is planned to create a methodology center in the field of voluntary certification.
Konstantin V. Leonidov, Deputy Director General of Standardinform, noted that with the adoption of amendments to the legislation on standardization there is an opportunity to extend the activities in the NCS for confirmation of compliance with the standards of organizations (STO) and technical specifications (TS), registered in the Federal Information Fund of standards.
