Using standardization tools to improve the quality of the provision of security services, he creation of a system of professional and objective assessment of the security organizations with the requirements of standards, the plan of interaction between the National Standardization System (NSS) and the Voluntary Certification System in the field of security and safety are the main topics raised at the round table.
At the event held in the Public Chamber of Russia, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the FAS of Russia, the National Guard and private security companies discussed the role and importance of national standards in solving the problems of choosing a reliable provider of security services in order to improve the quality of protection of facilities.

K.V. Leonidov drew attention to the fact that in accordance with the Federal Law of June 29, 2015 No. 162-FZ «On Standardization in the Russian Federation» regulatory legal acts may contain references to national standards. In accordance with the requirements of the Federal Law of 05.04.2013 No. 44-FZ «On the contract system in the field procurement of goods, works, services to meet state and municipal needs» and Federal Law of 18.07.2011 year.
№ 223-ФЗ «On the procurement of goods, works, services by certain types of legal entities» when describing the procurement object, the use of national standards becomes mandatory.
On the use of certification results, K.V. Leonidov emphasized that today the Federal Law of December 27, 2002, No. 184-FZ «On Technical Regulation» provides a rule prohibiting the requirement for voluntary certification in any specific system.

The participants of the event expressed support for efforts aimed at developing national standards in the field of security activities and noted that the widespread use of standardization documents increases the quality of protection of objects by ensuring an objective assessment of the quality of services.
The organizers of the round table were the Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia on security and interaction with the ONK and the technical committee for standardization «Anti-terrorist and security activities» (TC 208).
