GOST R 58144-2018 «Distilled water. Specifications» was the most popular document in July 2021 according to the information received from the Department of Distribution of the Documents on Standardization of FSBI «RST». This standard came into force since the beginning of July.
This document is applied to the distilled water received by means of water treatment plants. This water can be used as a solvent and for preparation of solutions of the substances, chemicals, reagents, during test performances and in technological operations and processes.
The mass fraction of ammonium ions in distilled water should not be more than 0.2 mg/dm³, calcium-not more than 0.8 mg/dm³, lead-not more than 0.05 mg/dm³.
Distilled water is a transparent liquid without color and smell.
GOST 33-2016 «Petroleum and petroleum products. Transparent and opaque liquids. Determination of kinematic and dynamic viscosity» was highly respected among the consumers in June that entered into force three years ago instead of the namesake document of 2000.
Standard sets the method for determination of kinematic viscosity in petroleum and petroleum products, transparent and opaque liquids by measuring the time of outflow of certain volume of liquid under gravity through glass capillary viscometer.
Kinematic viscosity is defined in GOST in the following wording- resistance of a liquid under the force of gravity.
GOST 12248.1-2020 «Soils. Determination of strength parameters by shear strength testing» also attracted interest among customers. This document became effective in June 2021 instead of the namesake document of 2010.
GOST sets the requirements for carrying out of consolidated drained tests of soils by means of in-plane shear method for determination of strength characteristics.
Physical characteristics (humidity, density, particle density, liquid limits and rolling-out limits) should be specified for tested soils. Particle specific gravity, porosity ratio, moisture level, soil plasticity number and index of liquidity (for cohesive dispersive soils) should be evaluated.
GOST 28672-2019 «Barley. Specifications» has also been in great demand in the middle of summer. It became effective last year instead of the namesake standard of the Soviet period.
This document applies to the grain of barley (Hórdeum) of the first, second and third classes.
Grain should be of a yellow color with different shades that reside in a healthy grain. The grain should not have smell of mold, malt, other musty and foreign odors according to GOST.
Humidity of barley of the first class should not be more than 14.5%, as for second and third classes- not more than 15,5%.
