Session of the Research and Technology Board of the Russian Standardization Institute (FSBI «RST») was held on the 25th of February 2022.
Report of the Director of the Department of Methodical Support of Perspective Activities of FSBI «RST» Anna Rybakova became a keynote speech during the session of the Research and Technology Board of FSBI «RST» .
She told about new Standardization Strategy presented by the European Commission at the beginning of February 2022 that contained new approach to standards in the European Union.
Nowadays European standards are considered as the base of implementation of ecological and digital transition of industry of the European Union and as a tool for provision of strategic independence of Europe.
Main trend of new European Strategy is strengthening the regulation of standardization by the European Commission.
European Commission will annually approve standardization plans specifying not only directions of standardization but deadlines for the development of standards needed for implementation of the EU Strategy Since 2022. Participation of the European Parliament and European Council in terms of standardization matter is enhancing.
Cooperation and coordination of the activities of the States - EU Members and their national bodies on standardization in international organizations on standardization will be organized according to the Strategy.
It is planned to create additional tools to attract research circles to standardization and stimulate the development of the documents on standardization based on the results of research projects.
Matters of learning and education in the field of standardization are in the focus of interests of the European Commission. It is proposed to create educational modules on standardization on the official web- site of the European Commission.
Anna Rybakova noted that new EU Strategy on standardization demonstrated the importance of strengthening the management of standardization in response to modern economic and political challenges. She also highlighted that such tendency should be taken into account in Russian national standardization system.
Organizational matters on the activities of the Research and Technology Board of FSBI «RST» dealing with the composition change of the Board have been discussed during the session.
