The most important event in the field of standardization, the International Technological Forum “Russian Standards Week”, has already started in Saint Petersburg. This event traditionally coincides with the World Standards Day and it is organized by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R). The International Technological Forum becomes a platform for discussions of various topics such as trends of the development of international, regional and national standardization, relevant directions of the development of standards, new challenges and practices of the activities on technical regulation.
More than 500 participants from 72 regions of Russia and 10 foreign countries are taking part in the discussions during the International Technological Forum. More than 1000 specialists joined to the Forum in an online format. The following topics were covered during the Forum: practical application of international and national standards in the field of management systems, development of voluntary certification, standardization and sustainable development. The Plenary session was devoted to the key topic of the International Technological Forum “Standards for technological development”.
CEO of GOST R Anton Shalaev performed as the Moderator of this Plenary session. Anton Shalaev noted that the key role of standards during the implementation of industrial policy, social and economic development was generally recognized. He also pointed out that standardization laid the foundation for the country's technological sovereignty in the situation of global changes. CEO of GOST R paid special attention that use of standards made it possible
to increase the competitiveness and quality of the goods, reduce the time for mastering new types of manufacturing, promote innovations, optimize the resource consumption and protect markets from counterfeiting and falsification.
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Aleksey Uchenov, the Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Victor Nazarenko, the Chairman of the Euro-Asian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the Commonwealth of Independent States (EASC), the Director of the National Body for Standards and Metrology of the Republic of Armenia Albert Babayan, the Member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Chairman of the All-Russian public organization “Union of Machine Builders of Russia”, the Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Aleshin and the Head of the Russian Quality System Maxim Protasov took part in the discussions during the Plenary session “Standards for technological development”.
The Forum maintains its international status - the President of the Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT), the Director of Standardization and International Relations of the Argentine Normalization and Certification Institute (IRAM) Osvaldo Petroni, the Chairman of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group CO., Ltd (CAM) Prof. Decheng Wang and the Director of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) Tatjana Bojanic performed during the Plenary session in the format of videoconference.
Series of thematic sessions were held during the first day of the Forum. The session “Digital transformation of standardization” was devoted to the discussion of the experience of digital transformation of standardization, intellectual processing of normative documents using the technologies of artificial intelligence and digitalization of technical regulation. Director General of the Russian Standardization Institute Denis Mironov acted as the Moderator of this session.
The participants had discussions on tendencies of the development of international standardization in the field of management systems, relevant challenges during the implementation of the management system in the medical organizations in the framework of the session of the All-Russian Quality Organization “Practical application of international and national standards in the field of management systems”.
The relevance of the issue concerning standardization of the requirements for the plant-based products was covered during the thematic session “Alternative plant-based foodstuffs – new direction in standardization of food products”. Participants also shared the standardization experience concerning the requirements to the drinks and plant-based foodstuffs. The session “Actions against illegal trafficking of industrial products” addressed the matters of illegal trafficking of industry, protection of the consumers from the constructional counterfeit.
