Visit of the Delegation of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) headed by the CEO of GOST R Anton Shalaev to the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gases and Gas Technologies (Gazprom VNIIGAZ) was devoted to the relevant issues of the standardization development and certification in oil and gas sector on the 24th of October 2022. The GOST R Delegation was represented by the employees of the GOST R Central Office and the Heads of the Russian Standardization Institute.
Gazprom VNIIGAZ is the main scientific center of PJSC Gazprom in the field of geology, field development, production, transportation, underground storage and processing of gas and gas condensate, development of hydrocarbon resources of the continental shelf, ecology, involvement in the development of unconventional gas resources, industrial safety and training of highly qualified personnel. Gazprom Scientific Center is a developer of the targeted integrated programs on the main activities of PJSC Gazprom and it provides scientific and technical support for the long-term development of PJSC Gazprom. In addition, Gazprom VNIIGAZ is one of the significant participants in the standardization system in the oil and gas sector. Technical Committees on Standardization - TC 023 "Oil and Gas Industry" and TC 052 "Natural Gas" that are traditionally among the leaders in the rating of the effectiveness of technical committees carry out their activities on the basis of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.
The Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ Maxim Nedzvetskiy showed to the GOST R Delegation the research laboratories of the pilot test center of Gazprom VNIIGAZ including laboratory of biotechnological researches, multifunctional complex for technology processing, laboratory of protective and thermal shielding, experimental facility on natural gas liquefaction in the framework of the meeting.
Many of the developments of the Institute may later be reflected in new corporate, national and international standards in the oil and gas sector. It also should be mentioned that an Agreement on cooperation was signed between the Russian Standardization Institute and the Gazprom VNIIGAZ in September 2022. It is planned to develop the proposals of the Draft National Standardization Program and maintain the implementation of the Program concerning the fixed topics in the framework of the Agreement.
