A working trip of the representatives of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) in Tashkent was devoted to the issues of standardization and conformity assessment of electrical products.
A workshop on standardization and conformity assessment of electrical products was carried out in Tashkent in the framework of cooperation between the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) and the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.
This event was organized by the Trade Promotion Office of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The workshop was devoted to the matters of technical regulation in the field of electrical equipment, electromagnetical compatibility of electrotechnical and electronic equipment, low-voltage apparatus, energy efficiency of energy consuming devices.
Participants of the workshop acquainted with the information concerning Russian experience of participation in the systems of conformity assessment of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), activities of national, interstate and international technical committees on standardization and necessity in participation of business representatives in standardization activities.
Russian party was presented by the employees of the Russian Standardization Institute, State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Testing in the Republic of Bashkortostan and representatives of technical committees on standardization.
Deputy Director General of the Russian Standardization Institute Alexey Ivanov noted that standards served as an effective tool for implementation of technical policy and integration. Alexey also highlighted that standards were foundation for the use of technical regulation tools.
He also pointed out that development of general approaches and exchange of the best practices in this field enabled to carry out permanent improvement and development of existing mechanisms at all stages.
Alexey Ivanov took part in the meeting with the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation. The below-mentioned matters were covered during this session: the results of the conducted workshop, participation of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the activities of IEC, development of the institution of technical committees on standardization, matters of attracting business
to standardization activities and technical regulation on national level and in the Eurasian Economic Union.
GOST R Delegation also visited the largest enterprise on production of electric power equipment in Central Asia - “Uzelektroapparat - Elektroshield”.
