Receipt of applications for participation in the national stage of the International Standards Olympiad among the pupils has started.
The International Standards Olympiad is held on an annual basis supported by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The Russian team will be formed from the finalists of the national stage of the International Standards Olympiad.
The team of the Russian Federation has been participating in the Olympiad since 2022. Last year 9 pupils from Nizhny Novgorod, Tomsk, Kazan, Ufa, Sevastopol, Lugansk, Cheboksary and Novosibirsk represented the Russian Federation.
We would like to highlight that International Standards Olympiad among pupils aged from 13 to 18 years old has been organized since 2006 to promote understanding of important role of standards for the sustainable development of the society, security and quality of life. Scientific and research skills of the pupils, creativity of their minds, level of English are assessed during all stages of the Olympiad.
Qualifying round started from January 17, 2024 and it will last until March 17, 2024. The final of the national stage will be held in May 2024.
Each pupil in the age of 13-18 years old can take part in the qualifying round. It is needed to fill in the form and write an essay on the following topic - “What are standards for?”.
The participants of the Russian team who will represent the Russian Federation during the International Standards Olympiad will be selected according to the results of the final stage of the International Standards Olympiad.
