Standardization issues of artificial intelligence technologies and Smart Cities were covered in the framework of business program of the first International Technological Congress, which took place on September 17-19, 2024 at the Patriot Expo site.
Participants in the business program discussed key standardization issues of artificial intelligence technologies and their application in the concept of Smart Cities. Particular attention was paid to the development of relevant standards that will help to create efficient and safe digital twins of urban infrastructures.
Deputy Director General of the Russian Standardization Institute Alexey Ivanov noted that implementation of such complicated and large-scale concepts such as Smart Cities was directly related to the intensification of standardization works and greater coordination level of technical committees’ activities.
Experts also emphasized that standardization in the field of IT technologies was an integral part of the process of introducing innovative tools that ensured technological independence of the state, which provided inter-industry cooperation of activities and effective implementation of technical solutions in various sectors of the economy. Conformity assessment matters as a tool for increasing trust in artificial intelligence technologies have been also considered under the authority of the Technical Committee TC 164 "Artificial Intelligence". The discussion was finalized by drawing up recommendations for further development of standards in the field of IT technologies, artificial intelligence and creation of digital twins, which, in its turn, contributed to improving the quality of life in the urban environment.
The International Technological Congress was held with the support of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation , the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
It also should be noted that the International Technological Congress is included in the plan of the events for Russia's BRICS chairmanship in 2024. The International Technological Congress was attended by more than 15,000 specialists and representatives of Russian and foreign companies, integrators and distributors, developers of technologies and services for industry and energy, space, transport and finance, medicine and education.
