Participants of the 19th SMIIC General Assembly Meeting are delegations of national bodies on standardization of 48 countries. The Russian Federation was represented by the Central Office of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) and the Russian Standardization Institute.
The aim of SMIIC is forming and development of quality infrastructure.
One of the key topics is implementation of the Strategic Development Plan of Organization for 2021-2030.
During the Plenary session SMIIC Secretary General İhsan ÖVÜT noted that 58 standards were developed since 2018 and more that 20 standards were under development.
The Russian Federation is an active participant of the Halal developing market and represented by GOST R it joined SMIIC as an observer in 2019.
Official Russian versions of SMIIC basic standards have been included in the Federal Information Collection of Standards.
In 2022 GOST R has approved 2 GOSTs on Halal describing production processes and general requirements for products as well as introducing terms and definitions.
