The first SMART annual conference, organized by IEC and ISO, was held in Switzerland on December 10-11, 2024.
The conference raised key issues related to digital transformation, development and implementation of new technologies, standards and practices in the field of electrical engineering and standardization.
Particular attention was paid to innovation, sustainable development, and information security issues.
Deputy Director General of the Russian Standardization Institute Alexey Ivanov took part in the conference.
More than 150 people took part in the event, both in person and remotely. Participants shared experiences, exchanged ideas and developed strategies for further cooperation.
"Constant extension and involvement of new participants in the discussion regarding the future of SMART standards received a new impetus by organization of the first annual conference that was held at the ISO venue. The discussion allowed us to exchange the best practices and lay the foundation for combining efforts to promote new approaches to digital transformation of standardization," said Alexey Ivanov.
SMART is a joint program of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that will facilitate digital evolution of international standards to meet the needs of citizens, society and economy.
