Moscow, December 17, 2024 – Scheduled meeting of the Council of Heads of State (National) Standardization Authorities of the EAEU Member States was held in the hybrid format under the chairmanship of the National body on standardization and metrology of the Republic of Armenia Albert Babayan. The meeting was attended by Valentin Tataritsky, Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), heads of national standardization bodies of the Republic of Belarus - Elena Morgunova, the Republic of Kazakhstan - Zhanna Yesenbekova, the Russian Federation - Anton Shalaev, Deputy Director of Kyrgyzstandard Aibek Musaev, as well as representatives of standardization institutes, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the EASC Bureau by Standards.
During the meeting, a discussion was held on proposals for practical implementation of the results of assessment of scientific and technical level of Technical Regulations of the EAEU that have entered into force and lists of standards to them, as well as implementation of the Procedure for coordination of standardization works within the Union which provided for monitoring the implementation of programs on development of interstate standards to Technical Regulations of the EAEU.
Key topics of the meeting were discussion of the Council's work areas for 2025-2026, in particular cooperation of standardization bodies in the development, implementation and use of interstate standards necessary for application and enforcement of Technical Regulations, as well as establishment and implementation of the priorities for standardization works in order to form and update lists to the EAEU Technical Regulations.
The agenda of the meeting included discussion of current practice as well as proposals to establish uniform transition periods when introducing standards and including them in the lists to Technical Regulations.
Decision to establish the Council of Heads of State (National) Standardization Authorities of the EAEU Member States was adopted on May 14, 2018 by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in order to implement the agreed policy in the field of standardization by the EAEU Member States within the Union.
Initiatives on digitalization of standardization documents, as well as digital environment for their development, use and distribution were presented to the Council’s participants within the Round Table of the Conference “100 years on guard of quality: path of the Publishing House”, arranged to coincide with the centenary of foundation of the Publishing House of the People's Commissariat of the Workers' and Peasants' Inspection of the USSR and foundation day of the Russian Standardization Institute.
