The Standards Association of Zimbabwe delegation paid a working visit to the Russian Standardization Institute. Denis Mironov, Director General of the Institute, opened the event aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation with a welcoming speech.
During the meeting, the Russian side informed the colleagues in detail about the current state and prospects for the development of the national standardization system. Denis Mironov told the audience about the digital transformation in this area: "In terms of creating standards, the new Beresta 2.0 system is currently being tested. The system is scheduled to enter pilot and commercial operation in 2026. It includes new digital services to automatically translate standards into machine-readable form during their development. It also allows you to immediately create standards in a machine-readable format."
Alexey Ivanov, Deputy Director General, highlighted the key aspects of standardization in the Russian Federation.
In turn, representatives of Zimbabwe shared their experience in developing a standardization system in their country. Director General of Standards Association Mukoi Kosmos noted: "Our standards have been applied for almost 65 years, and we can certainly learn a lot from you. We have made progress in converting standards into electronic format, but we are particularly interested in the topic of machine-readable standards."
Later, the demonstration of Federal Information Collection of Standards was organized for the guests, where they were able to assess the scale and depth of the institute's work. The delegation was particularly interested in a specialized exhibition of artifacts demonstrating the evolution of standardization in Russia.
Rector of the Academy of Standardization, Metrology and Certification Alexander Zazhigalkin spoke about the mechanisms of the technical committees and the detailed process of developing regulatory documents.
The Zimbabwean delegation asked many questions, showing great interest in the topics discussed. The visit took place in a constructive atmosphere and laid a solid foundation for further professional dialogue.
