A working meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Türkiye took place at the Russian Standardization Institute. The Turkish group included employees of the Ministry of Trade, the Turkish Standards Institute, as well as diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Russian Federation.
Denis Mironov, Director General of the Russian Standardization Institute opened the meeting with a speech. He introduced the guests to the rich history and the main milestones of the institute's development. During the productive dialogue, the parties exchanged experiences in the field of developing and approving standards, discussed current trends in the development of national standardization systems, as well as the changes that new technologies are bringing to this area.
The director of the Turkish Standards Institute, Mahmut Sami Şahin, expressed gratitude to his Russian colleagues for the warm welcome and hospitality. "I am sure that our meeting will give a powerful impetus to our cooperation," said Mahmut Şahin. In the discussion special attention was paid to digital transformation. Denis Mironov emphasized: "We are well aware of the prospects and possibilities of using artificial intelligence in standardization. Digital doubles and virtual trials are no longer the future, but our present. We have already developed digital standards for conducting such tests. As part of the National Standardization Program, it is planned to develop a standard for digital certification. I am sure that we will also have many points for collaboration in the field of AI applications."
Deputy Director General Dmitry Kasichin introduced the BERESTA Federal State Information System to the Turkish delegation. "At its core, it is a comprehensive data accounting and processing system," he explained. "Its key task is to provide the technical committees with comprehensive information support at all stages of their work."
Federal Information Collection of Standards was shown to the guests, where they were able to personally assess the scale and depth of the institute's work. The delegation was particularly interested in a specialized exhibition of historical artifacts that clearly demonstrate the evolution of standardization in Russia.
At the end of the meeting, according to the recently signed memorandum of understanding between Rosstandart and the Turkish Standards Institute, Denis Mironov handed over to Mahmut Şahin an electronic copy of the Federal Information Collection of Standards. This step symbolizes the openness of the parties to in-depth cooperation and knowledge exchange, marking the beginning of a new stage in the partnership between the two countries.
