International standard of rail industry IRIS, which determined the main requirements for the manufacturers of rail equipment and for providers of the components for the enterprises of rail industry, was discussed at the beginning of June in Saint Petersburg.
Representatives of RZD, the largest European manufacturers, consumers of a rail equipment, including SIEMENS and Deutsche Bahn AG and also Rosstandart and national enterprises of rail industry discussed the results of the implementation and functioning of the standard since 2009 till 2015, perspectives of its development until 2020 and its adoption as an international standard of ISO at the session of IRIS Advisory Board and round table on the matter of development of IRIS standard in the Russian Federation.
It was mentioned that development of IRIS in Russia was an example of fruitful cooperation with the European Union in the field of standardization.
