GOST IEC 62115-2014 «Electric toys. Safety requirements» is applied to all electric toys. The main aim of this standard is to reduce risks while you are using the toys. Very often many accidents occur when child’s age is not taken into consideration. When parents choose a toy or a play they should not forget about the degree of physical and mental development of their child.
Standard is not applicable for toy steam engines, decorative toys, sports equipment, deep water equipment, slot machines, video and computer games and others.
GOST R ISO 8124-1-2014 «Safety of toys. Part 1. Mechanical and physical properties» sets the presence of warnings/operation instructions on toys and their packages. Requirements of this standard can be applied to all toys for children till 14 years old. Various terms such as ball, rattle, trigger, large-scale toy, toy, stuffed with fluffy material, bicycle for children, scooter for children, water toy and others are described in this standard.
GOST ISO 8124-2-2014 «Safety of toys. Part 2. Flammability» sets the categories of flammable materials which are forbidden for use while manufacturing of the toys. Toys which can be put on the child’s head (beard, moustache, wig), textile masks, fancy dresses, toys stuffed with fluffy materials (dolls, figures of animals) etc are very dangerous for them. Flammability of toys which are influenced by small sources of ignition is also described in this document.
