Plenary meeting of IEC technical committee on standardization «Terminology» (IEC TC 1) was held in the framework of the 81st General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on October 12-13, 2017.
Secretary of IEC TC 1 Elena Lozovatskaya and Assistant of the Secretary Marina Lapina took part in this session on behalf International Cooperation Department of STANDARTINFORM.
Various matters have been discussed during this session such as perspectives of standards development, cooperation with other IEC technical committees, development of international electrotechnical Glossary «Electropedia» for the purpose of creation of universal database for experts in the field standardization and proof of conformity with electrotechnical goods.
Next session of IEC TC 1 «Terminology» will be held in Autumn 2018 in Pusan (Republic of Korea) in the field of the 82nd IEC General Meeting.
Reference: IEC TC 1 «Terminology» deals with the development of terms and definitions in the electrotechnical field, establishment of their equivalence during its use in various languages. It is also responsible for leading an electrotechnical Glossary «Electropedia».
