Employees of the International Cooperation Department of STANDARTINFORM took part in the WebEx conference initiated by the ISO Central Secretariat, which was held on March 6, 2018.
Special attention was paid to distribution of ISO Publications, its National Adoptions by ISO Members, ISO Central Secretariat, Third-Party Distributors. Ways and formats of delivery of ISO Publications have also been discussed during this meeting.
Team leader of marketing and sales Paola Costa and specialist on marketing Tharun Thomas made a presentation of Policy for the Distribution, Sales and Reproduction of ISO Publications and the Protection of ISO`s Copyright (ISO POCOSA 2017) and told about basic rights of ISO Members and main changes in ISO POCOSA 2017.
One of important changes in ISO POCOSA 2017 was connected with the opportunity of provision of ISO Publications in raw formats (XML, Word) by national body on standardization complying with several terms (application of these documents for internal use and solely for implementation of standards).
Series of matters have been discussed during the WebEx conference such as notions of Active and Passive Sales, prices for ISO Publications and its National Adoptions, provision of ISO documents for educational institutions, copyright of ISO Publications, watermarking (for ISO Members and Third-Party Distributors), making translations of ISO Publications into different languages.
Matters of distribution of ISO National Adoptions and conclusion of bilateral Agreements between ISO Members have also been covered during the session. ISO Members bear primary responsibility for sales and distribution of ISO Publications and its National Adoptions in their national territories. They are also responsible for provision of sales reports to the ISO Central Secretariat and making payments for sales and distribution of ISO Publications, National Adoptions and other works to the ISO Central Secretariat on a quarterly and annual basis.
Separate point of discussion was dedicated to provision of single user network licenses and multi-user network licenses. As for single user licenses, it was highlighted that one user could exploit only one copy of ISO document. If more than one user needs ISO Publications, in that case it is necessary to apply for a multi-user network licenses.
