Vice President of Publications and Marketing of American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM International) John Pace visited Nakhimovsky Prospect, 31/2 where a meeting with Director General of STANDARTINFORM Viacheslav Vitushkin was held on May 17, 2018.
Matters of current cooperation between STANDARTINFORM and ASTM International in the field of distribution of ASTM standards in the territory of the Russian Federation, making translations of ASTM standards into Russian language, development of national standards on the basis of ASTM standards were covered during the meeting.
John Pace paid special attention to illegal distribution of ASTM standards and their translations in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Primary goal of ASTM International is complete monitoring of an unauthorized distribution of ASTM documents.
Parties agreed that one ASTM standard should have only one equivalent translation. STANDARTINFORM intends to help ASTM International in carrying out these activities.
It was also decided to make amendments in current Agreement between ASTM International and STANDARTINFORM in terms of making translations of ASTM standards into Russian language.
Matter of cooperation of STANDARTINFORM with American Petroleum Institute and American Society of Mechanical Engineers was also examined during this working meeting.
