STANDARTINFORM prepared review of standards on football in the run-up to football World Cup 2018 which has been organized by FIFA for the 21st time. It will be held in the Russian Federation for the first time.
State standard of the USSR (GOST 7458-78) on football boots with bottoms made of leather, rubber, plastic with replaceable spikes has been relevant for almost 40 years. Boots should have a length more than 20 mm, should be without scratches, which hurt the skin, without inner creases, cracks between details of the lower part of boots and also without cross cutting damage of the details. Deviation of wearing surface of the heel from horizontal plane is not allowed to be more than 2 mm while contamination of shoe lining should be less than 3 square centimeters.

GOST R 55664-2013 contains requirements for safety of football goals. They should be of solid structure to bear loads during the game. Football frame should be of white or silver color and manufactured from light metal. Football net should hang freely - a ball tapped in it will not be able to bounce back. Corner and edges of the football frame are rounded and their radius should not be less than 3 mm. Retention components of the net should exclude injuries of football players. Manufacturer provides instruction on assembling, installation and technical support. In this instruction it is stated that goals have to be protected from turnover even when they are not used.
GOST R 57096-2016 sets rules and procedure of certification of goals for football, handball, mini-football and hockey on grass. This standard is oriented on manufacturers, suppliers, holders of goals and certification bodies, testing laboratories and other parties involved. This document also describes applicable schemes and procedures of certification of goals, marking of conformity and inspection control of certified goals.
GOST R 55529-2013 describes requirements for safety of sport facilities of different types while carrying out sports and physical cultural activities. This standard also sets requirements for test methods. Safety assessment program includes undertaking visual and instrumental checks of sport facilities.
