As we know, World Tourism Day is celebrated on September 27. In this regard STANDARTINFORM prepared a review of new GOST R «Tourism services in the field of self-day tourism». This document has come into force since June1, 2018 and it has been implemented for the first time in Russia.
This document treats self-day tourism as travels and trips, port and recreation events and other forms of recreation organized by travelers without involvement of legal entities or sole traders in the sphere of tourism.
Self-day tourism is divided into walks, trips, travelling, expeditions, competitions according to forms of carrying out; according to types and difficulties of tourist routes self-day tourism is divided into hiking, skiing, mountain, caving tourism, water, horse-riding tourism, bicycle touring etc. Self-day tourism is also divided into physical tourism, cognitive tourism, research tourism, religious tourism, recreation tourism, ecological tourism according to the aims. It can also be individual and group according to number of participants.
Main types of services in the field of self-day tourism are the following: development of camping trips and routes, transportation of tourists, rent or booking of means of transport, organization of catering for tourists, booking of hotels and other accommodation facilities, organization of accommodation in campgrounds, visa processing and other documents.
As for camping trips, they can be organized as trips for weekend or trips during many days.
Tourist group should comprise members of one organization with similar interests, age and physical abilities. Optimal number of participants of the trip is from 4 till 12 persons. As for age restrictions, tourist should reach the age of 16-18 years old to be able to participate in such trips.
It is necessary to take into account the following peculiarities while planning the route of a trip: speed of a river flow, snow cover conditions, dangerous areas in terms of avalanche, conditions of roads, bridges and paths.
You have to take care of nature and do not cause harm to it while organization of self- day tourism.
