IEC TC 1 plenary session, sessions of the group on assessment of changes in standards of series IEC 60050 and IEC TC 1 advisory committee «Terminology» took place in October 25-26, 2018.
These events were held in the framework of the 82nd IEC General Assembly in Busan, Republic of Korea.
Reports of working groups were listened and participation of countries-members of IEC TC 1 was also examined. Results of an «Overview of Electropedia - Online Electrotechnical Vocabulary) - How is it used nowadays? How would you prefer to use it tomorrow? », proposals for amendments in Supplement, Annex SK (normative) «Rules for terminology work» have also been considered. IEC TC 1 strategic business plan has also been revised.
22 representatives from 8 countries took part in the IEC TC 1 plenary session: Germany, Italy, China, Korea, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Japan.
Reference: STANDARTNINFORM leads the secretariat of IEC TC 1 "Terminology" from February 2014. Scope of activities of IEC TC 1 covers approval of terms and definitions used in various electrotechnical fields and determination of equivalence of terms used in various languages.
