First Deputy Director General of STANDARTINFORM Aleksandr Barkov took part in the Forum on Marketing and Communication Technologies of the International Organization on Standardization (ISO), which took part on April 4-5, 2019 in Geneva.
This event was organized for specialists in the field of standardization involved in the sphere of marketing or communication technologies. This forum became a platform for exchange of experience, discussion of challenges and opportunities, fulfillment of new informational expectations of young generation in the period of digitalization.
ISO Secretary-General Sergio Mujica opened the Forum and highlighted the key role of marketing and communication technologies in ISO strategy. He also covered main provisions of ISO POCOSA and noted fast-paced consumer environment.
First Deputy Director General of STANDARTINFORM Aleksandr Barkov pointed out that matter of reliability of information became very urgent nowadays as access to large amount of data was accessed through the Internet nowadays. He also noted that this matter applied to standardization because accuracy of its documents provided manufacturers and customers with modern technical solutions, qualitative goods and services.
The event included holding of five plenary sessions which covered the following issues: benefits of implementation of international standards; importance of understanding standardization role in modern digital world; formation of knowledge on standardization among young generation starting from childhood to the level of an expert – from promotion of value of standards in a kindergarten in Korea to scaling of distribution system and development of standards in Belgium and China; use of capacity of the Internet; credibility to social media in the period of fake news; marketing researches; innovative formats of online web stores; creation of digital archives of standards.
Participants of 68 countries attended this event.
